Healthcare Services

Access to quality healthcare remains a challenge in many of Northeast India. There is an
opportunity for entrepreneurs to establish healthcare facilities that cater specifically to
remote areas through telemedicine services or mobile health clinics. Moreover, wellness
tourism focusing on traditional medicine (like Ayurveda) or alternative therapies can attract
both local populations and tourists seeking healing experiences.

Education & Skill

The need for quality education and vocational training is paramount in empowering youth
across the North-eastern states. Entrepreneurs can create educational institutions focusing
on skill development tailored to regional industries—whether it's tourism management
courses or training programs for handicraft artisans. Online education platforms could also
be explored.

Logistics and packaging

Logistics and packaging solutions has become one of the promising sectors for this part of
the region. Warehousing logistic, E-commerce logistics and cold chain logistics along with
different packaging solution to farmers, producers and manufacturers are the promising
avenues for enterprise set in the region.
Despite the ample scope, there are certain glaring challenges that need to be addressed
However, with the increasing government support, growing investors' interest, start-up and
incubation support, the future of entrepreneurship looks bright in the North-eastern region
of the country.

Joining the mission entrepreneurship development, over the last three-decade EDII's North
East Regional office has been contributing to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of NER by
offering Entrepreneurship Development Programmes, skill development programmes,
capacity-building initiatives, hand holding and mentoring to entrepreneurs, with support
from central/state governments and Corporates under CSR initiatives.
Northeast India represents a treasure trove of entrepreneurial possibilities waiting to be
explored. By leveraging opportunities, existing and potential entrepreneurs stand bright
chances of not just a bright entrepreneurial career but also of making a contribution to the
growth and prosperity of the region.
