The event was also graced by Shri Hitesh Kumar S. Makwana, IAS, Surveyor
General of India, Survey of India, Department of Science and Technology,
Government of India. Addressing young entrepreneurs and startups
attending the event, Shri Makwana said, “Survey of India is the oldest
scientific department which has been able to evolve and diversify its areas
of operation mainly because of adoption of technology, primarily the drone
and geospatial technologies. Urban planning, livelihood mapping, data
mining etc. have become systemized with the adoption of latest technology.
I, therefore, underline the importance of technologies and innovations in
the growth of mankind. Innovative start-ups have to be encouraged and
these innovations stand as the premise of development.”
