On the same lines, Micro Skillpreneurship programmes were conducted under Nirmal
District Project (supported by Accenture Solutions Private Limited.) to develop
entrepreneurial skills among 300 women. Focussed on empowering rural and peri-urban
populace, the IDBI Bank supported Project, Revitalising Innovation for Sustainable
Enterprises (RISE) also has been initiating activities that are visibly impacting the quality of
life of the rural populace. Over the last two months, EAPs and Technology
Entrepreneurship Development Programmes have been conducted in Kashipur and
Raipur, thus training beneficiaries in setting up small enterprises in the area of millet-
based products. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has also been sponsoring
innovative Micro Skillpreneurship Development Programmes, which EDII is
implementing, to build essential entrepreneurial skills and promote self-sufficiency,
among women and other disadvantaged groups. Currently, the initiatives are active across
three districts in Karnataka: Chikkaballapur, Kolar, and Bangalore Rural. Several Corporate
houses are today stepping forth to fulfil their responsibilities towards empowering
Persons with Disabilities and other marginalized sections of society.
