...the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme
Holistic rural development is being strategically targeted by developing skills, promoting
entrepreneurship, improving infrastructure, and thus fostering sustainable livelihoods.
Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) is aimed at boosting rural economies
and livelihoods.
SVEP is the sub-scheme under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods
Mission (DAY-NRLM) and is being implemented with the objective of helping members of
Self Help Groups set up small enterprises in rural areas under non-farm sector.
EDII, as the National Resource Organisation (NRO) implements SVEP in 82 blocks across 15
States. Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Faculty, EDII is the Project Director.
The enterprises promoted under SVEP has crossed the 1 lakh mark.
• Enterprises promoted till date: 1,02,924
• Loan has been disbursed to 6,412 entrepreneurs to the tune of Rs. 27.45 Cr.
Women entrepreneurs of Josimath block being felicitated with Lakhpati Didi certificate by
Shri Harish Suyal, Block Development Officer.
On August 25th 2024, in Josimath block, Uttarakhand, 25 women entrepreneurs
supported by SVEP were felicitated with Lakhpati Didi. The felicitation ceremony was
graced by Shri Harish Suyal, Block Development Officer. A cheque of Rs.53 lakhs was
presented as Community Enterprise Fund. The event was also attended by Shri Kailash
Kala, Block Mission Manager; Shri Gautam Bisht, Block Programme Manager; Smt. Rupa
Negi, Mentor; CRP-EPs Chandrakala, Shivani Sati, and other stakeholders.

During August 29th to 31st, 2024, in collaboration with Rajasthan State Rural Livelihoods
Mission, EDII conducted a Training and Capacity Building Programmes for Community
Resource Person - Enterprise Promotions (CRP-EPs) in Jaipur. The pedagogy focussed on
ensuring uniformity in delivery of training by CRP-EPs, across all blocks. 330 youth working
as CRP-EPs in 11 identified blocks in Rajasthan—Asind, Rajpur, Rajgarh, Sarwar, Talera,
Balesar, Rajsamand, Bichhiwada, Ladpura, Jaisamand, and Sikandra, gained updated skills
and knowledge necessary for effective promotion of enterprise development.
