Envisioning Entrepreneurial Growth in


                          Uttarakhand ...the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana

                          The  competitive  advantages  of  Uttarakhand  are  extraordinary.  The  state  is  attracting
                          attention  as  a  suitable  startup  destination.  The  Devbhoomi  Udyamita  Yojana  is  an
                          outcome-based  scheme  that  has  been  introduced  to  attain  the  gals  of  inclusive  and
                          balanced growth in the state by tapping the entrepreneurial potential of youths.  As an
                          implementing agency of the scheme, EDII is making a contribution towards training and
                          mentoring youths at higher educational institutions, to harness resources which are in
                          plenty in the state, and set up their own sustainable enterprises.

                          In  collaboration  with  the  Higher  Education  Department  of  the  Government  of
                          Uttarakhand, EDII is driving efforts to build a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state.
                          This  initiatives  includes  boot  camps  for  business  plan  development,  sensitization
                          workshops for academic leaders and government officials, faculty mentor development
                          programmes, and comprehensive support for student startups.

                          Over  the  last  two  months,  23  two-day  bootcamps  were  conducted  across  various
                          universities and government colleges in Uttarakhand under the Devbhoomi Udyamita
                          Yojana (DUY) Scheme. The bootcamps introduced students to the career opportunities
                          available in entrepreneurship and the start up ecosystem. The initiative encouraged them
                          to consider entrepreneurship as a career, explore potential business ideas and improve
                          their skills to benefit from pursuing entrepreneurship.

                          A 12-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) was also conducted by the
                          Institute. These further instilled entrepreneurial traits, mindset, skills and attitude among
                          youths.  60  students  were  skilled  in  entrepreneurial  competence  and  geared  up  to
                          commence  their  entrepreneurial  journey.  The  students  have  innovative  ideas  and
                          concepts, which are being nurtured by EDII mentors. They are in the process of fine tuning
                          procedures and formalities related to enterprise setting up. Dr. Amit Dwivedi, Director,
