Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Goa
Goa Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant had inaugurated the Entrepreneurship
Development Institute in Goa on March 12th 2024, to make the State a cradle for
entrepreneurial aspirations and mindsets. The objective was to institute activities that
instil entrepreneurial capabilities among the people of Goa. Significant research of
outcome-based initiatives and launch of relevant programmes has commenced. EDII is the
implementation agency.
During the last two months, EDII organized three entrepreneurship related programmes in
Goa, on – Funding Options for New Venture of Entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurship
Awareness and Funding, Financing, Marketing and Scaling a Startup. Together, the
programmes sensitized more than 200 youths of the state.

Additionally, two three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) were
held under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-
NULM) on September 18-20 and September 23-25, 2024. Targeting City Level Federations
(CLFs), Area Level Federations (ALFs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), and individual/group
entrepreneurs, these programs were organized by the Goa State Urban Development
Agency (GSUDA) in partnership with the EDII-Goa Centre, with a total of 125 participants.
Goa, with its dynamic blend of culture and commerce, offers a fertile ground for
entrepreneurial ventures to flourish. The EDII's Goa Centre is poised to serve as a catalyst,
nurturing the inherent spirit among the people of Goa, particularly its youth.
