                          Entrepreneurial Aspirations of Malaysia
                          ...Capacity Building of Employees of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Malaysia
                  Governments  across  countries  are  exploring  techniques  and  strategies  of  broadbasing
                  entrepreneurship. Malaysia has always been one such proactive countries, that has always keenly
                  sought to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem and deep-root entrepreneurial concepts & practices
                  across sectors in its society. EDII's association with the Malaysian Government dates back to the
                  late  90s  and  the  early  20s,  with  several  programmes  including  skill  development,  reskilling,
                  entrepreneurship development, capacity building, training etc. that were conducted under the
                  aegis of noted government organizations. EDII was also associated with Malaysian Government
                  Agency – Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) to implement skill building programmes for its senior
                  management officials. MARA is a prominent agency of Govt. of Malaysia devoted to promoting
                  entrepreneurship within the country.
                  Under a result-oriented arrangement, EDII is committed to extending entrepreneurship-oriented
                  capacity building programmes for the employees of MARA. EDII has undertaken to train senior
                  officials  of  MARA  in  strategic  planning,  implementation  and  monitoring  of  long  term
                  entrepreneurship activities. In September, 2024, the Institute conducted two capacity building
                  programmes  on  New  Enterprise  Creation  (Trainers'  Training  Programme-Basic  level),  for  the
                  employees of MARA. The programmes were conducted in Malaysia for 31 new recruitees of MARA.

                                                                        Capacity Building Programme.
                  The course design and pedagogy focussed on developing a cadre of trainers in entrepreneurship.
                  These  trainers  were  imparted  skills  that  enabled    them  to  work  for  the  promotion  of
                  entrepreneurship development in Malaysia by implementing unique tools and techniques for new
                  enterprise creation.
                  The second programme that was conducted during 3rd to 7th September 2024, was the Advanced
                  Trainers'  Training  Programme  aimed  at  developing  a  cadre  of  hard-core  professionals  in
                  entrepreneurship sector who could strategically plan and implement entrepreneurship activities in
                  Malaysia.  The  programme  also  open  them  to  knowledge  that  would  help  them  make  rich
                  contributions to policy making. 18 senior officials  of MARA, with more than a decade of experience
                  benefitted. While  49 officials have been trained in the two programmes, 100 more will be trained
                  in the impending six months.
