Augmenting Rural Ecosystems to Adopt Entrepreneurship
The Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme
The Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) is a sub-scheme of the
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM). It aims to
help members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) set up small enterprises in the non-farm sector.
EDII has partnered with SVEP to promote entrepreneurship in rural areas.
Glimpses into activities over the last two months:
(4th from L) Shri Charanjit Singh, Additional Secretary, MoRD with
women entrepreneurs of Sahaspur block, Uttrakhand.
Shri Singh visited Sahaspur block to engage with entrepreneurs supported by SVEP.
Sharing some unique entrepreneurial mantras with them, he encouraged entrepreneurs
to continue learning and seeking higher breakthroughs. Also present during the
interactions were; Shri Pradeep Pandey, Additional CEO, NRLM (National Rural Livelihood
Mission); Mr Vikram Kumar, Project Director, Rural Development Department, and Ms
Sonam Gupta, Block Development Officer (BDO) Sahaspur.
