Strengthening the Start up Ecosystem in Educational Campuses
in Uttarakhand
‘Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY) is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education,
Govt. of Uttarakhand which is being implemented by EDII with the aim of providing
entrepreneurship & skill development to youths across the state. The training aims at
making youths and the marginalized, self-reliant.
Under this significant initiative that supports the growth of entrepreneurship and self-
employment in Uttarakhand, an important component is to train and mentor Faculty
members who in turn can train students to pursue an entrepreneurial career.
In consonance with this objective, so far EDII has put in place a cadre of 124 trained faculty
members under Faculty Mentor Development Programmes (FMDPs). The trained group of
educators are effectively nurturing skills and entrepreneurial capabilities among students.
Three such programmes were conducted at the EDII Campus. 93 faculty members from
government colleges and universities, across Uttarakhand, attended the programme under
the direction of Dr. Amit Dwivedi, Director, Department of Projects (Government), EDII.
Participants of Faculty Development Programme (FDP) held during July 21-26, 2024 at

associated with the programme.
Under the project, thus far 7884 students have been sensitised on entrepreneurship
awareness through boot camps and 3706 have been trained under specialised
Entrepreneurship Development Programmes.
As Dr. Amit Dwivedi, Programme Director says, this programmes is very well curated to
benefit students pursuing higher education, youths in search of sustainable livelihood
opportunities and the marginalized and differently abled members of Uttarakhand.
