              Chhattisgarh Nurtures Entrepreneurial                                                                             Inauguration of Micro Enterprise Development

                                                                                                                                On January 19, 2026, a Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) was

              were  held  at  different  locations  in  the  state,  including  Mohatara,  Bataikela,  Jashpur,
              Chetba, Dokda and the villages of Balod block. In all, 566 participants were sensitized on
              self-employment opportunities, entrepreneurial concepts, income-generating activities
              and  financial  support  systems.  The  sessions  encouraged  participants  to  view
              entrepreneurship  as  a  viable  livelihood  option  and  built  their  confidence  towards
              enterprise creation.

                                                                                                                                Neelambari Dave, called entrepreneurship education an essential requirement in
                                                                                                                                today’s  times.  She  remarked  that  Entrepreneurship-based  programmes  in
                                                                                                                                universities, are more than just platforms for creating startups; rather, she said,
                                                                                                                                these instil traits and competencies  that are important to excel in any field.

                                                                                                                                Prof.  Alok  Chakrawal,  Vice-Chancellor  of  Guru  Ghasidas  Vishwavidyalaya,
                                                                                                                                mentioned the growing need to impart entrepreneurship training from a young age.
                                                                                                                                He especially threw light on the importance of financial literacy and appropriate skill
                                                                                                                                development to bridge the market gap. He added that nearly 12,500 students are
                                                                                                                                currently  enrolled  at  the  university,  and  if  every  student  focuses  on  skill
                                                                                                                                development, unemployment can easily be eliminated.
