Mission (NRLM) - Cluster Development

Programme (CDP)

To drive growth in the non-farm sector and promote rural development, the Ministry of December 24, 2025: The Tata
Rural Development (MoRD) has launched the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) - STRIVE team visited the Common
Cluster Development Programme (CDP), with a focus on artisan-based cluster Fa c i l i t y C e n t re , Ka ga l , t o
development. As Technical Support Agency (TSA), EDII provides specialised technical understand the operational model,
skill development initiatives, and
assistance to artisans across various clusters to foster entrepreneurship. In the past two convergence opportunities for
months, following interventions were undertaken in clusters: enhancing artisan employability
and enterprise sustainability.
Kolhapuri Chappal Cluster

The producer company participated in Kudumbashree Kerala SARAS Fair, Chalissery held
during January 2-12, 2026 and Guntur SARAS Fair, Andhra Pradesh held during January 6-
18, 2026. Newly designed product range of Kolhapuri chappals were showcased, which
received positive customer response for quality and design innovation. The sale was to the
tune of Rs. 1 Lakh.

Commissioner (Handicrafts),
Kolhapur. Certificates were
distributed during the
valedictory session, marking
January 8, 2026: Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, visited successful skill upgradation of
the Kolhapuri Chappal stall at SARAS Mela, Guntur. trainees.

Manohar, Hon'ble Minister for Dahod Pottery Cluster. The dignitaries
Civil Supplies, Food and Consumer reviewed pottery production processes,
Affairs, Government of Andhra cluster-level organisation, and the role
Pradesh, visited the Guntur SARAS of the producer company in supporting
Mela and appreciated the
handmade Kolhapuri footwear. women artisans and market-linked
pottery activities.
