Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana:

Empowering Youth in Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand is pacing fast on the path of building a robust startup ecosystem. The State is
tapping its immense potential and resources, and it pitching these to potential startups. The
state is dedicated to fostering an environment that nurtures the spirit of entrepreneurship.
EDII is pleased to contribute to State's efforts in building a thriving entrepreneurial
landscape. Launched in September 2023, 'Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY),' is a key
initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and providing a potent platform to aspiring
entrepreneurs. EDII collaborates with the Higher Education Department, Govt. of
Uttarakhand to support and promote this initiative. Over the last two months, several
impactful activities have been successfully conducted in Uttarakhand under the Devbhoomi
Udyamita Yojana initiative.

On 12th January 2025, EDII participated in International Uttarakhandi Pravasi Divas,
organized by the Govt. of Uttarakhand at Dehradun. During the event, Hon'ble CM of
Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the EDII's display stall and
appreciated EDII's efforts in promoting entrepreneurship within the state. The
Conference was attended by 200 delegates. Some of the dignitaries at the Conference
included; Smt. Radha Raturi (IAS) Chief Secretary, Govt. of Uttarakhand; Shri Shailesh
Bagauli (IAS), Secretary to Chief Minister, Govt. of Uttarakhand; Dr. Ranjit Kumar
Sinha (IAS), Secretary of Higher Education Dept., Govt. of Uttarakhand; Dr. Deepak K.
Pandey, Assistant Director, Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand, and
Nodal Officer, DUY, Dehradun; Dr. Amit Kumar Dwivedi, Director - Department of
Projects (Government), EDII. The conference discussed emerging entrepreneurship
and investment opportunities in the state in sectors as diverse as tourism, power,
manufacturing, agriculture, horticulture, health & wellness etc.
