International MSME Day...

Digital evolutions and innovations are greatly empowering MSMEs to adapt to market
shifts. Embracing innovations like cloud computing, digital marketing, and e-commerce
have hastened businesses and streamlined operations of MSMEs. While the sector is being
widely supported, the sector entrepreneurs need to be sensitised about advancements
and progressions that they can adopt to embrace growth. MSME Day marks the
significance of the sector to an economy. On 27th June 2024, EDII commemorated
International MSME Day with a panel discussion on 'Digital Transformation and
Innovation.' The event was attended by a cross-section of audience including MSMEs,
startups, entrepreneurs, policy makers Govt. officials and other stakeholders.

The panel comprised Shri Shailesh Patwari, Advisor SME Board, New Delhi; Shri Pradeep
Ojha, Joint Director, MSME Development Facilitation Office (DFO); Dr. Jaimin Vasa,
Chairman & MD of Vasa Pharmachem Pvt Ltd & President of Gujarat Chemical Association
& Gujarat Pharmaceutical Association; Shri Yaman Saluja, Co-founder of Naapbooks Ltd.; a
representative from a renowned E-commerce portal; and Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director
General of EDII.

Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Associate Senior Faculty & Coordinator of the Department of Business
Development Services & National Outreach, initiated the event with a welcoming address.
He also emphasized on the critical role that MSMEs play in fostering economic growth by
making a 50% contribution to the global GDP.

The panel discussion on 'Digital Transformation and Innovation: Unlocking Opportunities
for MSMEs,' was in sync with the theme of MSME Day 'Building a Stronger Future
Together'. The idea was to share information on how innovative technologies could be
leveraged to set up sustainable MSME businesses.
