Department of Business Development Services and National Outreach

The Department of Business Development Services and National Outreach contributes by way of
strengthening the SME ecosystem through interventions aimed at growth and sustainability of
small and medium entrepreneurs. The Department also focusses on providing comprehensive and
innovative business development services, spearheading nationwide outreach initiatives, and
championing the growth and resilience of SMEs by :

Strengthening national outreach through projects/programmes across states

Improving implementation of Centre and State Govt. schemes for enhanced impact on
MSME Clusters

Functioning as Project Management Unit (PMU) and Project Management Consultant (PMC)

Developing a knowledge platform/research on SMEs/MSMEs

Providing comprehensive offerings to boost Business Development Services and
entrepreneurship ecosystem

12th January, 2024: The release of EDII developed book - 'Rising Micro Enterprises to Build Inclusive MSME Sector in Gujarat’ at the
MSME Conclave in Vibrant Gujarat 2024 at the hands of Hon'ble Cabinet Minister, Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, Shri Narayan
Rane and Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel. Also present at the momentous release function were Shri S.
J. Haider, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries & Mines Department, Govt. of Gujarat & EDII Governing Board and Dr. Sunil
Shukla, Director General, EDII.
