Observance of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in Meghalaya

Janjatiya Gaurav Divas was observed on November 15, 2025 at the Rongdan and Mendima
Van Dhan Vikash Kendras (VDVKs) in North Garo Hills, Meghalaya. The programmes paid
tribute to the legacy of Birsa Munda and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of India's
tribal communities. Through these observances, participants reflected on the importance of
preserving indigenous identity and traditional heritage. Both the events were marked by the
active involvement of around 50 women and community members, fostering a sense of
dignity, unity and collective pride.
