Goa’s progression in the field of entrepreneurship is unparalleled. In line with its
mission of spreading awareness about entrepreneurship and encouraging young
minds, EDII with the support of EDC Limited, has been consistently organizing
specialised training programmes.
During the last two months, the EDII – Goa Centre, under the CSR initiative of EDC
Limited, conducted 14 Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs), sensitizing
over 734 youths across the state. The programmes were designed to create awareness
about the benefits of pursuing entrepreneurship as a career option. Alongside these, 3
three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programmes were conducted at Panaji,
where 145 participants were equipped with practical skills important for effective
business management.
EDII-Goa Centre reached a milestone through its involvement in the Mukhyamantri
Swayam Rojgar Yojana (MSRY). MSRY is a flagship initiative of the Government of Goa,
launched to promote self-employment, innovation and entrepreneurship across the
State. Implemented by EDC Limited in collaboration with EDII – Goa Centre, under the
overall supervision of the Directorate of Industries, Trade, and Commerce (DITC), the
scheme aims to foster a vibrant and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem. After the
launch of scheme, EDII-Goa Centre under MSRY conducted 10 Entrepreneurship
Awareness Programmes, promoting state-wide entrepreneurial culture through
education and community outreach. These programmes reached out to more than
600 students.
In alignment with the vision of building a pool of trained faculty mentors in the
education and skilling sectors by 2030, capable of nurturing students to take up
entrepreneurship as a career, EDII-Goa centre organized One Day Sensitization
Workshops for Faculty Members. Three Workshops successfully trained 145 faculty
members. These initiatives and continuous efforts will help establish Goa as a model
entrepreneurial state.
