DUY-Trained Entrepreneurs Showcased
Innovative Products
The Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY) supported by the Department of Higher
Education, Government of Uttarakhand and implemented by EDII, aims to
strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem across Uttarakhand. As an implementing
partner, EDII is actively promoting entrepreneurship in the region by providing
training, mentoring and handholding support to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs,
since its launch in 2023.
Apart from trainings, capacity-building to ensure new product development and
new venture creation, EDII is extending its support and promoting products
developed by DUY trained entrepreneurs. This commitment was prominently
reflected during the Rajat Jayanti celebrations on 9th November 2025, which
witnessed an inspiring display of youth-led innovation. 11 entrepreneurs trained
under the DUY showcased their products at the Forest Research Institute (FRI),
Dehradun. The event became a moment of great pride for the state as Hon’ble Prime
Minister, Shri Narendra Modi visited the exhibition and personally reviewed the
stalls. The products developed under the DUY were displayed within the Higher
Education Department’s stall. The display featured traditional Aipan art, herbal
honey, innovative nettle tea and technology-led solutions under startup Namaste
Sarthi. Together these highlighted the evolving entrepreneurial spirit among the
youth of Uttarakhand.
Shri Shailesh Bagauli, IAS, Secretary to Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of
Uttarakhand, appreciated DUY stall and commended students efforts. He
complimented the blend of tradition, innovation and sustainability demonstrated
through the display of products. The products stood for rigorous mentorship, skill
development and continuous support provided under the DUY.
Shri Shailesh Bagauli, IAS, Secretary to Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of Uttarakhand
and Dr. Deepak Pandey, Assistant Director, Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand
