P. 2
The Institute has been advocating entrepreneurship as a development tool to address
the concerns of poverty, unemployment, gender inequality, environmental
weaknesses, unfitting water and sanitation facilities, hunger and lack of well-being
etc. For past several years, it has been working towards converting these challenges
into opportunities. The United Nations has established clear mandates to tackle 17
such challenges. First developed as Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), they
are now more extensive and are addressed as Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs). EDII has been approaching SDGs (earlier MDGs) collectively, on the
premise of Entrepreneurship.
Hence, in its regional scheme of planning, the Institute has been focusing on
strengthening every stage of an entrepreneurial ecosystem, thus underlining
economic prosperity, social equity and environmental protection. The last couple of
decades have witnessed diverse outcome-based activities for youths, support system
stakeholders, industry, regulatory officials, potential & existing entrepreneurs, start
ups, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, support institutions etc.
Through its regional centres, EDII has sought to
promote cooperation and collaboration, in
addition to shaping entrepreneurial spirit &
resolve. The entire country has been brought
