Harnessing the Potential of the
The various aspects of the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana were recently

larger economic development goals of the region through entrepreneurship.
Holy Uttarakhand, revered for its unique places of pilgrimage, has also potential galore in the
areas of entrepreneurship and opportunity generation. To tap this potential, and to impart
entrepreneurial drive to the state, EDII was roped in by Department of Higher Education,
Government of Uttarakhand, to implement the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana aimed at training
and motivating youths to adopt entrepreneurship as a career option. This has been envisioned
to strengthen entrepreneurship development and startup creation mission on educational
campuses, rural areas and among the disadvantaged and the marginalised through holistic and
strategic interventions.
In the last quarter, EDII organized five impactful Boot Camps in the key districts of Chamoli,
Pauri Garhwal, Bageshwar, and Almora, aiming to sensitize 572 aspiring entrepreneurs. These
two-day boot camps were designed with the objective of enlightening students about
innovation, startups, and entrepreneurship, thus orienting them to the benefits of adopting

Shri Shailesh Bagauli (IAS), Hon'ble Secretary to Chief Minister and Higher
Education Dept., Govt of UK stated, "The objective of the scheme is to develop
an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in Higher Education
Institutes of Uttarakhand in accordance with the National Education Policy-
2020.”
Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General of EDII, commended the initiative,
emphasizing the importance of fostering entrepreneurship and startup
