PLANNING FOR THE YEAR 2024-25
EDII has been vested with the responsibility of spearheading entrepreneurship not only
within but beyond the borders of the country. So we look ahead with this mandate and try to
spot more novel areas where entrepreneurial impulses could be nurtured. The planning
exercise, this time, had been a memorable one because the Business strategy for the
coming 10 years was also explored. The restructuring of the Institute’s Departments and
approach, in view of the national priorities, was discussed under the directions of President
Shri Rakesh Sharma, MD and CEO, IDBI Bank Ltd. The Strategy Task Force of EDII rendered
complete guidance. Well, while this will get formalised soon, for the year 2024-25, there
were elaborate discussions.
Setting up Entrepreneurship Development Centres internationally has been one of the ways
of creating insignias of entrepreneurship and ensuring its propagation. We will strengthen
this area by reaching out to several more international regions. Nationally, today EDII has a
PAN India footprint, it will strengthen its base by expanding its outreach through well
meaning projects. EDII is handling mega government projects, and added to its bouquet in
recent times, are the new projects – the Goa Udyamita Yojana and the Debhoomi Udyamita
Yojana. For implementation of these projects, EDII has opened its office in Goa and
Uttarakhand. The Institute looks forward to bringing several new regions in its fold, in
collaboration with the Government, so that start ups and entrepreneurship become second
nature to the nation.
While MSMEs growth and sustainability will be focused upon, Developmental projects with
corporates, with result-oriented strategy, will also continue to see livelihoods prosper.
Education and research will retain focus to ensure creation of growth-oriented enterprises
that are vanguard of an enterprising society.
I am sure; through its various departments and the technology business incubator, EDII will
continue to contribute to the growth of the nation through enterprise creation, MSME
growth, policy advocacy, research and impact assessment and propagation of best
practices in entrepreneurship development.
Best wishes...
