Puducherry Food-preneurs Gain Exposure in Thailand and Malaysia

A two-day Capacity Building Training Programme and Cooking Competition was organised during January 30-31, 2026, by EDII in association with the Pondicherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation (PIPDIC) and Puducherry Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). The programme witnessed participation of 57 MSMEs from food sector. Based on their performance, 18 food-preneurs were selected for an international exposure through visits to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur during May 25–30, 2026, where they gained insights into international standards in food processing, packaging, branding, marketing, technology adoption and business networking. They also interacted with industry stakeholders and explored opportunities for business expansion, collaboration and market access.

The officials encouraged the entrepreneurs to gain a deeper understanding of the Thai food market, build networks and explore opportunities to cater to local consumer preferences through innovative products and services.
