Sunbeams and Rising ‘Entrepreneurship'
Entrepreneurs and innovators see Ladakh as the next booming entrepreneurial destination
with robust infrastructure, burgeoning natural resources & opportunities, and new policies
& initiatives. 'Enterprising Ladakh' is a novel initiative of the Department of Higher
Education, Union Territory of Ladakh. It is being implemented by EDII, to empower local
youth and communities for entrepreneurial pursuits. The initiative aims to strengthen the
entrepreneurial ecosystem in the UT through collaboration, training programmes and on-
ground engagements. Ms. Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Administra ve Secretary (Higher Educa on,

Territory of Ladakh has been par cularly suppor ve of the ini a ve.
CONVERGE 3.0 was organized in February 2026 in Goa as a government-led initiative focussing on industry- Enterprising Ladakh gets honoured with the pres gious SKOCH Gold Award
academia collaboration, aimed at making Goa a ‘future-ready’ hub. The event was attended by academicians,
industry experts and policymakers who threw light on industry trends, entrepreneurship, skill development and
career opportunities. Dr. Satya Ranjan Acharya, Professor & Director - Department of Entrepreneurship Education,
EDII was invited as a speaker in the event. The valedictory function of Converge 3.0 was graced by Dr. Pramod
Sawant, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa, along with other distinguished dignitaries including (L-R) Ms. Swetha Susan
Elias, Strategic Partner Development Manager, News Partnerships Google – Mumbai; Mr. Santosh Mishra, Co-
founder, IG Defence; Mr. Vatsal Sheth, Co-founder - CEO Prismix Studios; Mr. Bhushan Savaikar, Director,
Directorate of Higher Education, Goa; Dr. Niyan Marchon, Programme Director, Directorate of Higher Education,
Goa and Dr. Satya Ranjan Acharya, Professor & Director - Department of Entrepreneurship Education, EDII.
The EDII-Goa Centre continues to empower the State with the knowledge, skills and innovation
so that the youths and the society at large pursue entrepreneurship and contribute to economic
growth.

Sun Pharma CSR Team Undergoes Training at EDII SKOCH Gold Award for promo ng entrepreneurship and youth empowerment in the region. Ms. Bhanu Prabha,
IAS, Administra ve Secretary (Higher Educa on, Technical Educa on & Skill Development, School Educa on),
Administra on of Union Territory of Ladakh and Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General - EDII, received the award.
Hearteningly, EDII implemented projects HastKala Setu Yojana (supported by Commissionerate of Co age and
Rural Industries, Govt. of Gujarat) and Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (supported by the Higher Educa on
Department, Govt. of U arakhand) were also awarded with SKOCH award in years 2023 and 2025, respec vely.
