Rasik Khosla stands out as a prominent rural entrepreneur from Kucheipadar village in Kashipur Block, Odisha. He initially worked part-time at UAIL (Utkal Alumina International Limited) through an agency contractor, but over time started his bakery shop, which he had always placed his heart and mind on.
But before this plunge, Rasik toyed with several business ideas, just to ensure that whatever he did, he achieved success. Bakery was on his mind but he was still open to other viable ideas and hence continued exploring till he was convinced. After discussions with team Udyamee, he was convinced about the potential of floating a bakery business. He attended the Entrepreneurship awareness Programme and got incubated at Rural Incubation Centre. Rasik launched his bakery unit. Over time, the demand for his products grew. Responding to customer needs, he opened a sales counter in the Doraguda area, where the UAIL Township is located.
This entrepreneurial journey was not easy for Rasik. He struggled to find skilled workers and securing sufficient funds. Additionally, finding a suitable location for the bakery was another challenge, along with dealing with irregular electricity supply which affected production. Rasik waded through troubled waters but emerged successful.
He leads a good life which provided for all his necessities. Rasik’s growth plan includes setting up an additional sales outlet, installing automated machines for producing certain bakery items, and opening a hotel near his unit.
