Basudeb Bisoi, is a determined entrepreneur from Tikiri village in the Kashipur Block of Odisha. His story is an inspiring example of resilience, resourcefulness, and growth in rural India. Basudeb began his entrepreneurial journey by setting up a photo studio. He had experience of working as a photographer, which he had decided to leverage. He started earning but this barely helped him meet his daily expenses.

Around the same time, Basudeb joined an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme being organized in his village, by EDII, as a part of the Project Udyamee. This programme imparted skills on entrepreneurship and enterprise creation. Basudeb was encouraged to get incubated at the Rural Incubation Centre. With mentorship and technical support from the Udyamee Project team, he recognized the increasing demand for flex printing and decided to expand his small photo studio into a studio-cum-flex printing unit. His loan of Rs. 10 lakh was facilitated by Udyamee under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) loan. With this money, he purchased a flex printing machine and commenced his job. His business started escalating gradually.

Basudeb has invested a total of ₹14,50,000 in his business. With structured marketing and networking, his business has been increasing by 80% to 90% each year. His future plans include setting up an offset printing unit.
