The Tehri region of Uttarakhand, nestled in the Himalayan belt, is primarily known for its rich medicinal and aromatic plants. Ayush Rawat, a student at P.G. College was inspired by the potential of the Ayurveda sector. His path towards entrepreneurship was ignited during a transformative two-day boot camp under the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY), which sparked his creativity and provided the foundation for business of his own.

To refine his vision, he attended the 2-day bootcamp under DUY, during which mentors provided comprehensive training in product design, eco-friendly packaging and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and other business related knowledge.

Armed with competencies and skills, Ayush launched his venture, Himtehri, with a vision to create a completely herbal, organic brand standing for purity and richness of Uttarakhand’s natural resources. Himtehri’s mission is to promote wellness through chemical-free personal care products while supporting sustainable local development and eco-friendly packaging solutions. Currently, Himtehri manufactures herbal soaps and shampoos, with focus on environmental impact. Their soaps are wrapped in bamboo paper, helping reduce plastic waste, and shampoos are packed in plastic bottles, which are recycled and refilled at Himtehri’s workstations. Very soon though, the brand is planning to switch to bamboo-based bottles to keep the venture entirely eco-friendly.

Currently with the support of DUY team, Himtehri is expanding its wellness portfolio and aims to launch a new range of products such as herbal detergents, liquid hand wash, herbal face wash and detergent bars. Started with Rs. 15000, Himteri has clocked a turnover of more than Rs. 80,000 in 6 months.
