Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme [SVEP] Sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India


Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), the sub-scheme under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) has the objective of helping members of Self-Help Groups (SHG) and their family members to set up small enterprises in the non-farm sector.

SVEP is sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, and State Rural Livelihood Missions of 15 states. EDII is functioning as the National Resource Organisation (NRO) under SVEP, for boosting rural livelihood and employment creation in 82 blocks across 15 States.

Micro Enterprise Development (MED) Programmes are being implemented across states under SVEP. MEDPs are a component of the Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) and focuses on the capacity building of Community Resource Person – Enterprise Promotion (CRP-Eps) and self-help group (SHG) members. These have been implemented in Tripura, Meghalaya, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
