To empower Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), the Swavlamban Project was launched by EDII in partnership with SBI Foundation. The project (March 2023 – February 2025) was implemented across districts Anand, Kheda, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and Aravalli districts of Gujarat.
It targeted 750 direct beneficiaries, including 500 individual PwD entrepreneurs and 250 PwD entrepreneurs through Member-Based Organizations (MBOs). By leveraging Business Service Providers (BSPs), the project provided tailored support in the form of enterprise scale-up training, mentorship, market linkages and convergence with financial and government schemes.
IMPACT (Till Date)
522 PwD entrepreneurs successfully scaled their operations under the enterprise scale-up training and mentoring programme.
Average incomes of entrepreneurs increased by about 45% after the Scale-up Training Programme.
Handholding and linkages facilitated for Manav Garima Yojana, Udyam registrations, e-Shram, PAN, and Health Cards.
24 Member-Based Organizations (MBOs) formed across 5 districts to strengthen collective enterprise development.
