NSRCEL, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) and Sanjeevini –Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society (KSRLPS)- Project Swavalambane Phase-2

Driven by the objective of empowering and building skills and competencies of women, EDII implemented Project Swavalambane Phase-2, an initiative by NSRCEL, the business incubator at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), and Sanjeevini –Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Promotion Society (KSRLPS), supported by the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). The objective of the project (January – December 2024), was to empower rural women entrepreneurs with businesses in non-farm / non-agri activities in Karnataka so that their businesses scale up. The project was implemented in 26 districts of Karnataka State.

Highlights

  • 📅 2 Boot Camps of 3-day each across 2 locations in Karnataka.
  • 💡 Supported 150 founders in business plan development, branding, and product packaging with the help of Nano Media and Social Media.
  • 🎯 Facilitated participation in events like Krishimela, Buyer-Seller Meets, Flea Markets at Bengaluru Airport, Trade Fairs in Delhi, and Saras Mela.
  • 🤝 Enabled convergence with government schemes and NSRCEL-hosted webinars and mentoring sessions.
  • 📊 Supported financial record-keeping for all 150 founders.

Impact

  • 💰 Rs. 33,48,000/- secured as loan by 11 founders.
  • 🎓 148 founders mentored on professional branding and marketing.
  • 📈 More than Rs. 2 lakhs sales enquiries generated in a one-day Founder–Seller Meet-up in Bengaluru.
  • 🪪 41 Udyam Registrations, 70 ZED Certifications, and 1 Artisan Card secured.
