By fostering an inclusive environment and addressing the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, the Institute strives to create a more diverse and equitable entrepreneurial ecosystem.

EDII is enhancing the pace of New Enterprise Creation and employability among women and youths through skill and entrepreneurship development training. Under the aegis of Accenture, the Institute has been implementing Micro Skillpreneurship Development Programme at 14 locations across the country, including the states of Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Assam, Karnataka, Goa, Bihar, Maharashtra Utter Pradesh, Tripura, and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The mandate of the trainings is to develop skilled – micro-entrepreneurs from among the rural youth/ women and urban youth/ women through usage of sustainable technologies and indigenous resources.

Participants receive inputs on available opportunities, including market trends and potential niches. They gain knowledge about relevant government schemes and initiatives that can support their entrepreneurial journey. Environment friendly business opportunities, such as; cultivation, value-added cow waste products, low-cost sanitary napkins, bee-keeping and honey processing leaf and paper plate making etc. have been selected for imparting training.

  • Statutory Compliance: Beneficiaries achieved various certifications including Udhyam Aadhar, FSSAI, and ZED Certifications.
  • Eco-friendly Practices: Beneficiaries adopted biodegradable packaging and learnt to recycle clothes for making trendy products.
  • Digital Marketing: Beneficiaries were trained in digital marketing to market the products efficiently. Almost all of them generated QR code for quick payment solutions.
  • Trade Fair Participation: Exposure to market linkages, technology, and eco-friendly packaging through trade fairs and exhibitions, helped them in sales.
  • New Technologies: Introduction of new machines for production, and quality improvement have escalated business prospects.
  • Collaborations: Major collaborations have been struck for the benefit of the participants in terms of grants for production, improved infrastructure and other business related work.
