As a brick manufacturer and an industry enthusiast, Hemal and Ronak Prajapati lead Harihar Bricks Mfg. Company, a pioneering force in Gujarat, India. With the rich legacy of producing high-quality facing and exposed bricks, the company has played a key role in setting benchmarks for excellence in the construction industry.
Ronak and Hemal were born in a family specialising in brick manufacturing. They grew up watching raw clay getting transformed and moulded by fire, and evolving to become the cornerstones of mighty structures that define skylines. But the brothers, both having studied entrepreneurship, wanted to do something ‘more and beyond’. They wanted to shape the future of ‘architecture’. So, with all their knowledge and skills in entrepreneurial practices, they delved into the manufacturing process and came out with yet more advanced and aesthetically appealing bricks made with superior technology. Their company initially specialized in manufacturing bricks tailored for European decorative purposes. The brothers expanded the bouquet of products.
The company was already manufacturing quality bricks but with the intervention of the brothers the appeal and the quality of bricks rose several notches up. To showcase their work and to enhance their outreach, the brothers envisioned setting up India’s first Brick Store. They set up a high-end studio as a joint initiative between Harihar Bricks & Jay Jalaram Bricks (Godhra).
Today, the entrepreneur-brothers proudly operate this one-of-its-kind brick store, offering over 300 varieties in multiple shades, textures and formats. They also export to 46 countries. The business has a strong presence in Europe, Oceania and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). A recent milestone includes supplying bricks for the prestigious Swaminarayan Temple in Abu Dhabi. Through several such unique initiatives, the brothers are redefining the way construction materials are perceived and utilized in modern architecture. They are playing a key role in setting benchmarks for excellence in the construction industry. Beyond their entrepreneurial endeavours, they are actively involved in industry and community development. Hemal’s leadership positions include: Chairman, GCCI Youth Wing (2022-23); Executive Committee Member, CII Young Indians (Yi); Governing Council Member, TiE Ahmedabad and Executive Committee Member, GCCI Parent Body. Today, as the world rises with structures that tell a story of craftsmanship and vision, Hemal and Ronak stand at the intersection of legacy and innovation, making a conspicuous difference to the world of construction and architecture.
