Mr. Kaxeel Patel
Director
Rajesh Power Services Limited
PGDM, 2019
Technology held an important place in Kaxeel’s heart, and he wished to make it an integral part of his entrepreneurial journey. Coming from a business family, Kaxeel grew up dreaming deeply and intensely about assimilating technological innovations in his existing family business. He wanted to closely integrate such originations in his family business. Driven by a desire to learn, he enrolled in EDII’s PGDM course during 2017-2019.
He says, “My perspective on business strategy and management were shaped. I could get a lot of clarity and felt confident about introducing changes in my family business.” Kaxeel joined his family business, Rajesh Power Services Limited (RSPL), a leading name in underground power transmission and infrastructure efficient power conversion (EPC) space.
Kaxeel introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, such as such for distribution and renewable asset/infrastructure utilization, which immediately reflected in improved efficiency and performance. However, this wasn’t easy for me. He had to gain trust of his predecessors before making changes at work. As he says, he kept going back to the knowledge and exposure he had gained at EDII and laid out a clear communication before his predecessors. They could finally see the long-term good effects on business as outcomes of Kaxeel’s strategy and introductions.
Under Kaxeel’s leadership Rajesh Power Services Limited (RSPL) reached a milestone by signing MoUs worth Rs. 4,754 crore with the Government of Gujarat under the initiative ‘Urja AatmaNirbharta – Viksit Gujarat 2047′. The company is on the path of executing turnkey power infrastructure projects involving the conversion of overhead high-tension lines into underground networks across multiple regions in Gujarat. These initiatives are expected to generate more than 33,000 jobs and contribute to strengthening the state’s power transmission and distribution systems. Kaxeel is currently working on several new initiatives focused on AI-based solutions and technology-driven innovations, aiming to expand and modernize the business further. Acknowledging the role of EDII in his journey, Kaxeel says, “The PG programme at EDII significantly contributed to my understanding of the commercial aspects of business, management practices and the overall entrepreneurial journey. I could think and plan strategically because of this training at EDII. I could also clearly crystallize the plan which I just had an idea about before joining the Institute.” Today, Rajesh Power Services Limited (RSPL), employs more than 900 people and clocks a turnover of over Rs. 1000 crore.
