The Momentous Convocation Address and the Pearls of Wisdom

EDII held its 25th Convocation of Academic Programmes on 18th May 2026, and was profoundly honoured to have Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh as the Chief Guest. It gives me great pleasure to recall how the audience felt that instant connection with every word of the Convocation Address. I must say it deeply elevated the spirit and the soul of everyone sitting in the audience. The august gathering of students, academicians, industry leaders and government officials were moved by the reflective analogies and anecdotes that the Chief Guest used in the speech to establish the sanctity of a convocation which comes with opportunities galore and world of responsibilities. He said, “precious landmark moments, we don’t just celebrate. It is an opportunity, to reflect on the past accomplishments, and look forward with anticipation, to the bright future that awaits us.”

The core of life’s philosophies and the lessons which the Chief Guest distinctly stated,

was an ode to life, teaching the graduating students that life with all its uncertainties and struggles is a precious gift and to live it seamlessly we must continue performing without expectations and be open to the lessons that it teaches us at every stage.

Talking about technology, entrepreneurship, market disruptions, humanity and social responsibilities, the Chief Guest re-engineered young minds to understand how each of these factors and duties harmonize to evoke the beauty of life in its full bloom.

Just as the nodding heads echoed in affirmation of every word, came in a timeless advice that will remain etched forever in the pages of EDII – “The main object of education, in my opinion, is the establishment of a twofold harmony, in every individual – harmony within his own self, and harmony, with other living beings, in the whole world.”

What a profound lesson on peace and duties; reminding every young mind that their purpose is more than just accumulating wealth, success is more about bringing harmony and that this is a vital duty of every citizen of the country.

The graduating group of students broke into an explicit applause, when the Chief Guest reminded them that “Reaching significant milestones, often creates the illusion that our education is complete. But this is not true. Learning is a lifelong, perpetual journey. To thrive in an ever-evolving world, one must maintain the curiosity, the eagerness to learn something new, and evolve as a better professional.”

This Convocation Address was truly historic. It almost acted like a finishing school for the graduating cohort who got trained in using their knowledge and intellect in the right way. A happy wave of wisdom touched everyone in the gathering.

The Chief Guest concluded with another golden reminder to the students. He stated that no victory is solitary, even this graduation has the effort of parents, grandparents and every member in the family.

Hearts were full of abundant joy and eyes reflected serenity. What an evening it was!!! Profound gratitude to Hon’ble Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena Ji.
