The EDII–Goa Centre, supported by EDC Limited, has been playing a significant role in promoting entrepreneurship in Goa through several entrepreneurship development and capacity-building initiatives. Through its structured and result-oriented interventions, the centre is nurturing minds, supporting enterprise creation and enhancing capabilities across the state. During the last two months, several activities were undertaken under the Mukhyamantri Swayam Rozgar Yojana (MSRY), a flagship initiative of the Government of Goa, implemented by EDC Limited in collaboration with the EDII– Goa Centre.
71 Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) were organized, reaching out to 3,717 participants. These programmes introduced the participants to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, helped them identify business opportunities and encouraged them to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option.
To further strengthen entrepreneurial capacities, four One-Day Sensitisation Workshops (ODSWs) were conducted, benefiting 177 participants. In addition, 10 Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) were organized with the participation of 615 entrepreneurs. These structured programmes provided participants with practical insights into opportunity identification, idea validation, market research, business planning, access to finance and government support schemes. Recognising the significant role of educators in entrepreneurship education, the EDII-Goa team organized six Faculty Mentor Development Programmes (FMDPs), bringing together 186 faculty members from various academic institutions. The programmes were designed to equip faculty members with skill and knowledge to promote entrepreneurship in their respective academic institutions.
Complementing these efforts, were the capacity-building programmes under Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative, with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs. During the last two months, under RAMP, 20 Business Management Training programmes were conducted, engaging 814 existing MSME entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. Through these diverse interventions, the EDII – Goa Centre has been empowering individuals with knowledge, skills and confidence required to establish and successfully manage enterprises.
