The Start-up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP), a sub-scheme of the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) aims to help Self Help Groups (SHGs) members and their families set up small enterprises in the non-farm sector.

EDII, as the National Resource Organization (NRO), promotes entrepreneurship across 84 blocks in 15 states, with a focus on creating sustainable enterprise opportunities and strengthening rural livelihoods.
During the last two months, several training and capacity building programmes were conducted across different states to create inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem. In Himachal Pradesh, five Community Resource Person – Enterprise Promotion (CRP-EP) and Community Based Organizations (CBO) Capacity Building & Institutional Strengthening Programmes were conducted to enhance the capacities of CRP-EPs and community institutions. The programmes focused on enterprise promotion, financial management, software usage, business planning and institutional sustainability mechanisms. 26 participants attended the programmes.
For enhancing entrepreneurial understanding among 15 rural entrepreneurs, one Entrepreneurship Development and Market Linkage Exposure Programme was organized in Punjab. Additionally, two One-week Entrepreneurship Development and Market Linkage Exposure Programmes were conducted at EDII campus, Ahmedabad. 60 participants from Palghar and Kelapur, Maharashtra attended these programmes, which focused on strengthening entrepreneurial capacities, improving market readiness, enhancing branding and digital marketing skills and orienting CRP-EPs on SVEP software & implementation processes.

In Uttarakhand, a five-day Residential CRP-EP Training and National Academy of RUDSETI (NAR) Certification Programme was also conducted for 20 participants. The programme strengthened the capacities of CRP-EPs on SVEP implementation processes, business opportunity identification, enterprise management, business plan preparation and institutional roles.
In Tripura, two SVEP Orientation and BRC Formation Programmes were organized to orient CRP-EPs and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) representatives on the SVEP framework, clarify roles and responsibilities of CRP-EPs and Block Resource Centre (BRC) members. The programmes were attended by 17 CRP-EP members and 15 Office Bearers (OBs) from different CLFs.

NITI Aayog Officials (4th from L) Ms. Himani Sachdeva, Consultant & (3rd from L) Ms. Jyoti Khattar, Senior Research Officer visited two Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Jammu and Kashmir. The officials appreciated SHG members and acknowledged the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir State Rural Livelihood Mission.
