Uttarakhand is on a strong startup drive, offering opportunities, incentives, and institutional support to innovative ideas. EDII is contributing to the State’s efforts to build a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem through the implementation of the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana, launched in September 2023 by the Higher Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The project aims to foster entrepreneurship among youth and ensure inclusive and balanced development across the state. Over the last two months, this entrepreneurial momentum was reinforced through key initiatives.
On the occasion of National Startup Day—January 16, 2026—a virtual seminar was organised on ‘Entrepreneurship: A Wave of Change and Digital Marketing for Entrepreneurs.’ The session was conducted by Mr. Rajat Sharma, Entrepreneurship Expert, EDII. A total of 17 students participated and gained insights into digital marketing tools that enable entrepreneurs to connect effectively with markets, enhance visibility, and respond to evolving customer trends.
Additionally, on January 12, 2026, online classes under the National Education Policy (NEP) framework commenced on entrepreneurship and new venture creation across six Higher Education Institutions in Uttarakhand. The sessions were designed to familiarise students with core entrepreneurial concepts and the fundamentals of enterprise creation.
