The Centre will promote rural entrepreneurship by organizing entrepreneurship development programmes in rural areas; supporting/engaging with funding/promotional/other stakeholders interested in promoting rural entrepreneurship and promoting understanding/insights based on the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) and other programmes being implemented by EDII in this space.
To organize entrepreneurship development work in rural areas, focused on targeted entrepreneur-profile and nature of activity.
To support/engage with funding/promotional/other stakeholders interested in promoting rural entrepreneurship.
To cull out understanding/insights based on its SVEP and related work for sharing with concerned stakeholders.
The Institute will carry out need assessment-cum-feasibility exercise to determine ways in which the prospective/existing rural entrepreneurs require to be reached out and supported. Based on the outcome, the Institute will develop offerings –mobile app based programmes, sensitization/orientation/full-scale modules on entrepreneur training. These will be offered in vernacular language and customized to suit local conditions.
EDII will in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders. Organize entrepreneurship development work at the ground level. This will encompass farmers as well as non-farmers. The work will be carried out in identified districts, including aspirational districts.
The cluster-level work will foster growth, capacity expansion and diversification of existing enterprises. Technology infusion, better market access and higher management bandwidth will be the important features of such work.
The Centre will ensure that the work prominently includes women entrepreneurs. The Institute will leverage Self - Help Group (SHG) networks in this behalf.
Work under the aegis of this Centre, would generate a wealth of insights concerning rural entrepreneurship development. The Institute will organize programmes to share these with regulatory, promotional, domain-specific agencies, state govt. agencies and credit institutions.
These will be widely developed to create a knowledge infrastructure and will be addressed to policymakers and ecosystem members.
