A group of economically and socially disadvantaged women, including those below the poverty line, homemakers, and unemployed, found a path to empowerment through an EDII training programme. They learned essential entrepreneurial, marketing, and financial skills, with advanced training focusing on quality products and packaging. They spotted the demand for Amla products like amla murabba, amla candy, amla laddu, and amla achar in NTPC Township and the local market. They observed health-conscious people searching for healthy products, and they seized the opportunity.
They faced multiple challenges while starting and running their business. Operating machinery, building a customer base, competing with other vendors, maintaining product quality, and developing effective marketing and branding strategies were all significant hurdles. Initial investment through the project and consistent supported form EDII mentors, proved invaluable. Mentors guided them through legal compliance, account opening, business formation, market understanding, product development, production processes, packaging, branding, and financial management.
Menka, acknowledged the crucial role of EDII support in understanding business challenges and finding solutions, boosting their confidence. Now, with a thriving business, they have ambitious future plans: expanding their product range, reaching new markets through online platforms and retail stores in other cities, increasing production capacity, and further strengthening their branding and marketing efforts. These women are building a sustainable future, empowered by training, mentorship, and their own entrepreneurial spirit.
