Sumit Grover, promoter of Vinod International, is a commerce graduate, with a Post Graduate Programme in Management – Business Entrepreneurship from EDII. He has also completed various short-term courses form IIM Ahmedabad and holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Washington university.

His time at EDII was transformative, igniting desires to build his own enterprise. Under the mentorship of his guide and father, who had 45 years of experience in the steel industry, Sumit focused on steel rolling mills. 

Despite being discouraged by friends, Sumit stayed determined. After completing his course, He took up a job with an Ahmedabad-based company as a trainee to gain on-the-job training. Simultaneously, he got an opportunity to put his skills to test when he revived a steel plant. A year later when he set up his business, Sumit bagged his first export order of hydraulic cylinders for Saudi Arabia worth ₹50,000. He fulfilled the order but at a loss of ₹10,000, but Sumit took it as a learning experience. Vinod International steadily grew, becoming a 100% export-oriented company offering end-to-end solutions for the steel industry. He is currently operating in Saudi Arabia, Iran, UAE and Africa. With manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia and Ghana, he is in the process of going public within next two to three years.

He represented India in various platforms, including Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAYE) Asia, Uganda, Common wealth countries U.K, Member of Saudi chamber of commerce and industry. Expanding his interest, Sumit started Kreivo FZC LLC, a production house creating OTT content and Punjabi Songs. 

Despite facing numerous challenges; Sumit continues to inspire others with his remarkable journey of resilience and success.
