Abhishek’s entrepreneurial journey, a testament to the power of passion and perseverance, began far from the world of business. The son of a lawyer and a teacher, this first-generation entrepreneur is now brewing success with Theka Coffee. He was always a curious student and wanted to learn about everything under the sun. His passion for reading fueled his love for learning. Even in school, his entrepreneurial spirit was evident, he started his first venture selling football t-shirts. He pursued his undergraduate studies in economics and later earned master’s degree from EDII, further honing his business acumen.
Abhishek became a co-founder of Theka coffee in 2018, a new generation coffee chain. Theka coffee sources premium, 100% Arabica coffee beans from a single estate, aiming to offer it to the consumer at competitive prices. The brand gained widespread recognition after appearing on Shark Tank India. Theka Coffee received funding from an international venture capital firm, Zenith Global Trading LLC of ₹ Rs 2.5 Crore. They also have a contract of entering into all Reliance Mart outlets with Theka Kiosks, PAN India. Theka coffee scaled rapidly, reaching a valuation of ₹ 120 crore.
EDII played a pivotal role in Abhishek’s entrepreneurial journey. Abhishek equipped with the knowledge and necessary skills to build and scale a business in a structured and strategic way. The guidance and support from the faculty have been valuable, especially during challenging times when he needed direction the most.
Looking ahead, Abhishek’s vision is to grow Theka coffee and establish it as a prominent name in consumer goods market across the country.
