Krishan Mishra is a visionary driven by a desire to make the world a better place. His journey is marked by hard work and numerous awards including the prestigious ‘Top 100 Leaders in Education’ award for his notable contribution to the field of education. Krishan grew up with the understanding that the best way to reach the top is by being the best man at the bottom.
He attributes his success to the values, ethics and discipline instilled in him from an early age. “The foundation of my values and disciplined behaviour had starting taking place during my school days.” Krishan recalls, “I fondly remember being in class eight when I found an expensive wristwatch in the library. I immediately reported it to school authority. They lauded my promptness and honoured me with Honesty Award. The owner of the wristwatch was none other than our school principal. It gave me immense happiness to see my parents filled with pride”. Krishan explained this incident sent a clear message, honesty is an enviable trait, and no matter what he does in life, he will never compromise it.
After completing his Business Administration degree in Indore, Krishan enrolled in the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship at EDII. The programme helped him explore entrepreneurship, identify his interests, and develop business plans. Krishan learned to think strategically and acknowledged the valuable mentorship from EDII faculty. He credits the motivational and skill-building programme offered at EDII, which proved invaluable in teaching judicious analysis of opportunities. He notes that the focus on risk assessment, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis, marketing principles, entrepreneurial profiles and, case studies enhanced his leadership skills.
Today, Krishan has over 20 years of versatile experience in strategizing businesses and operations in financial services and professional education space. For the past two decades, he has led market development of various top global professional education qualifications in India and other parts of the world. He has been very instrumental in helping them build a strong foundation in India and related market growth.
He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of FPSB India (Financial Planning Standards Board India). His responsibility is to build and grow Financial Planning Standards Board’s (FPSB’s) Certified Financial Planner (CFP)certification in India, with the vision to establish financial planning as a global profession and the CFP mark as the global symbol of excellence in financial planning. His current focus is on educating and building high standards of financial planning capability among students, practitioners and firms in India, and increasing awareness among consumers of the need for ethical, professional and trusted financial planning solutions to help them live their best lives. He has been a keynote speaker at various national and international forums including IIMA, IIMB, and IIT Bhubaneswar.
His Vision is to create a financially sustainable New Bharat of tomorrow through Financial Education for all.
