Goa Udyamita Yojana (in association with Government of Goa)


Entrepreneurship drives economic growth. The introduction of the Start-up Policy in 2017 marked a significant milestone, positioning Goa as an attractive destination for entrepreneurs beyond the tourism sector. Under a Government to Government mission, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant reached out to The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, to facilitate setting up of and Entrepreneurship Development Centre in Goa. At the behest of Hon’ble Chief Minister, EDII intervened as an implementation partner. The Centre was launched on 12th March 2023 at the hands of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant.  The Centre now functions with the goal of tapping the entrepreneurial potential and indigenous resources of Goa to foster self-reliance and spur growth.

The first anniversary of the EDII-Goa Centre coincided with completion of 50 years of EDC Limited, Goa on 12th March, 2025. The occasion was graced by Dr. Pramod Sawant, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa. Also present were Shri B. S. Pai Angle, Managing Director, EDC Limited; Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, Chief Secretary of Goa and Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII. During the event, a document on the one-year journey of EDII – Goa Centre was released by the esteemed guests. In one year, more than 700 students have been trained and more than 250 potential ideas of aspiring entrepreneurs have been handheld.
