Handholding the marginalized through training and other related facilitation to secure a sustainable livelihood option for them is important for a well-rounded economy.    Project Aarohan, launched under Tata Power’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a novel initiative dedicated to empowering artisans, farmers, and fishermen residing in the Mundra and Mandvi regions of Kutch, Gujarat. EDII is implementing the project. The three-year project commenced in 2022.

Under the initiative, training and handholding is being extended to 200 beneficiaries across 19 villages. EDII is implementing he initiatives through its regional project office and a Common Facility Center in Bidada, near Mandvi.

Beneficiaries were exposed to markets and consumer behavior through participation in exhibitions and melas.


The beneficiaries are being given exposure through Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs), Micro-Skillpreneurship Development Programmes (MSDPs), Industrial Visits, and by promoting networking with relevant organizations. Measures such as digital promotion, participation in exhibitions, improved products and their packaging techniques etc. are being focused upon to enhance their acceptance as micro-preneurs in the market.
