EDII’s Eastern Regional Office at Bhubaneswar implemented the Utkal Alumina International Ltd. supported Project UDYAMEE as Project Implementing Partner (PIP). Project UDYAMEE targeted Enterprise Promotion through Rural Incubation Model for 300 youth from Kashipur block of Rayagada and Thuamul Rampur block of Kalahandi in non-farm and agri-allied sectors. So, over three years (July 2021- June 2024), this project ensured creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the tribal hinterlands of Rayagada and Kalahandi, thus bringing about socio–economic development and also creating first generation Entrepreneurs.
518 business plans were prepared during the year. The Project team organized appraisal committee meetings at Project office in the presence of UAIL officials. During this appraisal meeting, committee approved and recommended seed fund provision for 301 entrepreneurs amounting to Rs. 54.00 Lakh.
296 beneficiaries have set up their own businesses, and 5 are in the process of setting up. They are being counselled based on their resources and skills.
An amount of Rs. 88.33 Lakh was disbursed to the entrepreneurs under different schemes.
The average income of new entrepreneurs is around Rs. 14,548/- per month.
