EDII, in collaboration with District Skill Development-cum-Employment Office (DSDEO), Keonjhar and with funding support from DMF, Keonjhar, has initiated Project DMF Udyami to promote an entrepreneurial ecosystem in seven mining-affected blocks & municipality wards in Keonjhar, Odisha.
During the last two months, 56 village awareness meetings were conducted, where 1220 participants were introduced to the project and emerging opportunities. In addition, 67 sensitization meetings were organized to create a supportive environment for entrepreneurship within the community. Nearly 960 participants were sensitized on entrepreneurship and various government support schemes.
The beneficiaries of the project are stepping forth with their entrepreneurial ventures. On April 29, 2026, beneficiaries received seed fund support from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi. During the event, MAA MANGALA SHG Group, Champua, received seed fund of Rs. 60,000. Additionally, three individual beneficiaries Mrs. Banita Naik from Joda and Mr. Kedar Chandra Naik from Jhumpura received Rs. 60,000 each, while Mrs. Neelam Mahakud received Rs.40,000. The financial assistance will help the beneficiaries strengthen their enterprises and set an example of self-sustenance for others.
