International Day of Persons with Disabilities; Felicitates Differently Abled Entrepreneurs

EDII has always been an advocate for balanced and inclusive growth. The Institute remains committed to the empowerment of women, marginalized communities, and Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by training and skilling them to ensure their assimilation into the mainstream.

3rd December every year marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. In observance of this significant day, the Institute invited Dr. Pradyuman Ganubhai Vaja, Hon’ble Minister, Social Justice and Empowerment, Primary, Secondary and Adult Education, Higher and Technical Education, Gujarat, as Chief Guest for a special lecture. A special feature of the event was an exhibition of over 20 stalls by EDII-trained beneficiaries. This was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister Dr. Pradyuman Ganubhai Vaja.

The event witnessed the release of a document on ‘Centre for Empowerment of Differently Abled (CEDA)’, featuring the implementations, outcomes, and success stories. Releasing the document: (Centre) Dr. Pradyuman Ganubhai Vaja, Hon’ble Minister, Social Justice and Empowerment, Primary, Secondary and Adult Education, Higher and Technical Education, Gujarat; (2nd from L) Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII; (L–R) Dr. Amit Kumar Dwivedi, Director – Department of Government Projects, EDII; Dr. Satya Ranjan Acharya, Director – Department of Entrepreneurship Education, EDII; and Dr. Prakash Solanki, Associate Professor, EDII.

Also, on this occasion, noted Divyang Entrepreneurs were honoured for rising above their limitations. The awardees included -Ms. Kavita Modi (Bobbin Manufacturer); Ms. Chetanaben Patel (Detergent Powder Manufacturing); and Mr. Kalpesh Maganbhai Pandya (Dealing in Sale and Repair of Electronic Products).
