Ladakh is on the trajectory of becoming a land of enterprises. Dedicated capacity building programmes designed to nurture the entrepreneurs of tomorrow, is what EDII is actively taking up under the mega project, Enterprising Ladakh. Enterprising Ladakh is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education, Union Territory of Ladakh, implemented by EDII. The Institute has established its Ladakh Centre to cater to the requirements under the banner of Enterprising Ladakh.
The Enterprising Ladakh Centre serves as a regional hub for entrepreneurship education, training and community outreach, with the focus of strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem across the UT. Various activities were undertaken during the last two months, focused on nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets, enhancing business capabilities and enabling sustainable livelihood opportunities among youth, women and Self-Help Group (SHG) members.
On December 16, 2025, a workshop to spread awareness about MSME schemes was organized, where 60 participants gained knowledge about various government schemes. Additionally, two Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes (EAPs) and one Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) workshop were organized in Leh district. Together, these programmes impacted over 500 youth and SHG members, making a significant impact at the community level.
As part of the programme, 10 beneficiaries participated in an exhibition held from December 18 to 20, 2025. The exhibition was instrumental in providing market linkages, promoting products, and facilitating networking opportunities within the industry.
