Chhattisgarh holds a promising place in terms of promoting entrepreneurship and innovations. The state sports a remarkable union of institutions, government and industries in encouraging entrepreneurship. With the support of the Department of Commerce and Industries, Govt. of Chhattisgarh, EDII has set up the Chhattisgarh Entrepreneurship Development Centre to undertake activities directed at raising awareness about the discipline and to impart focussed entrepreneurship & skill training for a higher incidence of New Enterprise Creation.

Over the last two months, EDII has implemented a series of sensitisation, awareness and enterprise promotion programmes across Chhattisgarh.

In a state-wide rigorous entrepreneurship promotion drive, the Institute organised 10 One- Day Orientation Workshop Entrepreneurship Sensitisation Programmes (OWESP) were held at different locations in the state, including Mohatara, Bataikela, Jashpur, Chetba, Dokda and the villages of Balod block. In all, 566 participants were sensitised on self-employment opportunities, entrepreneurial concepts, income-generating activities and financial support systems. The sessions encouraged participants to view entrepreneurship as a viable livelihood option and built their confidence towards enterprise creation.

Additionally, 9 one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programmes were conducted, reaching out to over 551 youth and prospective entrepreneurs across Bilaspur, Jashpur, Balod and Korba.

Scaling up, two twelve- day Micro Enterprise Development Programmes (MEDPs) were initiated at Bilaspur from 19 January 2026 with 45 participants in each programme.
