Qualification & Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration / Economics / Rural Development / Social Work / Commerce/ Commerce / Core-Sciences / Technology / Agriculture
- Must have at least 6 years of experience in Entrepreneurship Development / Training / Mentoring / Handholding / Linkages / Product Development / Ecosystem Building etc.
- The candidate should possess good documentation and reporting skills, high degree of computer literacy, data analysis ability and good communication skills with fluency in English and Hindi.
- The candidate should possess knowledge of enterprise creation techniques.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct capacity building training programs.
- Provide handholding support to potential and existing entrepreneurs for setting up and development of small and micro enterprises, establishing marketing linkages, running the enterprise, meeting legal compliances, etc.
- Implement/execute and monitor various activities/ assignments/ projects.
- Prepare proposals and document of Project proceeding.
- Organizing Exhibition and Workshops.
- Prepare regular reports on the status of the assigned initiatives to the Head and Project Director.
- Maintain a systematic account of all relevant project documents & records.
- Must be prepared to work anywhere in Uttarakhand
Type of Employment: On a Contractual basis.
Maximum Remuneration: Rs.6,00,000 – Rs.7,50,000 Per Annum OR As per approved norms / commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Position: Mentors (Business Development)
Location: Across Uttarakhand (District-Wise Deployment)
Programme: Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY)
Number of Positions : 15
Reporting To: Project Officer (Training & Capacity Building)
Qualification and Experience:
- Qualification in a relevant field such as Management, Entrepreneurship, Commerce, Engineering, Technology, Core-Sciences, Humanities, Agriculture or allied disciplines.
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in business development, entrepreneurship, MSME promotion, startup mentoring, or enterprise advisory
- Proven experience in mentoring early-stage entrepreneurs, students, or startups
- Practical knowledge of product development, market research, costing, pricing, compliance, and business operations
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver practical, domain-specific training during Orientation/ Bootcamps, EDPs under DUY
- Provide continuous one-to-one and cohort-based mentoring to students for idea refinement and venture development
- Guide students in market surveys, product development, prototyping, and validation
- Support entrepreneurs in business planning, costing, pricing, compliance, marketing, and operational setup
- Facilitate linkages with markets, financial institutions, technology providers, and ecosystem partners
- Work closely with Project Officer (Training & Capacity Building) and nodal colleges for coordinated and effective programme delivery
- Ensure viable micro-enterprises are established and supported towards sustainable monthly revenue generation
- Maintain mentoring records, progress tracking, and outcome-based documentation as prescribed
- Support district-wise entrepreneurship development based on sectoral potential and student clusters
Type of Employment: On Yearly Empanelment.
Mentors will not receive fixed remuneration. Remuneration will be based on measurable outcomes such as:
- Number of students mentored
- Number of ventures successfully established
- Revenue targets achieved by student Enterprise
- Successful market / finance / technology linkages created
- Documentation and reporting quality
State-wide Presence. Mentors will be deployed across districts depending on:
- Entrepreneurship cluster presence
- Number of student cohorts
- Sector-specific potential
They will coordinate with Project Officers (Training & Capacity Building) and nodal college authorities for smooth implementation.
Mentors Domain:
Accounts & Bookkeeping (2 Mentors)
- Setting up accounting systems for student ventures
- Training in GST basics, costing, bookkeeping, invoicing, help onboarding on apps such as Vyapaar and Khatabook
- Helping maintain financial discipline
Handicraft and Handloom (2 Mentors)
- Guiding design improvement, product development, raw material sourcing
- Supporting artisans & students in building craft-based businesses
- Ensuring GI-based and local craft promotion
Market Linkage (2 Mentors)
- Connecting ventures with retailers, wholesalers, exhibitions, ecommerce platforms
- Helping create vendor networks and buyer relationships
- Ensuring sustainable demand for products
Media/ Digital Marketing (2 Mentors)
- Training in digital marketing, Instagram/Facebook branding, content creation
- Helping students build online presence and increase sales
- Guiding paid & organic promotion strategies
Financial Linkage (2 Mentors)
- Connecting students with banks, MFIs, subsidies, credit schemes
- Preparing documentation for loan proposals
- Facilitating credit readiness
Technology and innovation (3 Mentors)
- Supporting digital tools, automation, and tech-enabled business models
- Assisting in prototype building, product testing, and innovation validation
- Helping students adopt affordable technologies to scale
Food Processing (2 Mentors)
- Providing technical knowledge on processing, packaging, labelling
- Ensuring FSSAI compliance
- Supporting product shelf-life improvement & value addition
